When there's nothing to do and mind wanders!

Felt pretty bored today. Bored to death, as if this time shall last forever. Not so, and suddenly had work to do, do nothing, i.e., and that is also something to be done, nothing!
Jodhpur felt like a boring city, has a peculiar and characteristic laziness about it. Laziness you can love and fall in love with.
Now I feel at peace, had great difficulty in convincing mind that when there is nothing to think, its better. The daily grind has come up with this idea of constantly doing something, thinking if physical actions are at rest. Gone are the days when sitting idle was something everyone looked forward to do.
i.e., vacations, and when they come and go, now we don't know.
I remember Davies when he said:
'What this life so full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare'
i.e.,

Life - one step at a time

Live life one step at a time…
When was the last time you saw stars in the dark black sky?
When last did you see the sun set and the moon rise?
When last you saw the moon fade and the sun come to sky with all the glory?
When was the time when you got up at dawn and saw the deep orange streak in the otherwise dark sky?
When was the last time you threw stones in a pond to count the ripples?
When was the last time you saw a bird bathing in a puddle of water, with wings wet and beak dry?
There are a lot of such ‘whens’ in your life the only answer to whom is ‘I don’t know’ or ‘I don’t remember’. That teaches us a lot. We have forgotten to live, to relish the joy of life nature gave us, to relish the reason to live, to see around us the plenty of beauty that abounds all around. Birds, bees, flowers. We have lawns but no time to appreciate the flowers that we grow. We miss all joys for one that somehow misses us. We fail to enjoy the journey to reach a destination that we all know is certain at the end of this life. Still we try to live life by leaps and bounds, by jumps and kick starts, by running around and sprinting. Then we get tired and when we reach the end we think why did I rush. Lost out friends, people who loved me and people whom I loved. I never had the time to say to my brother I love you, to my dad and mom, I adore you, to my spouse I can’t live without you and to my friends You are the only things I earned in life.
Say them today, before you go so far away in quest of success that success seems meaningless without the people you want around.
Live life one step at a time. Cook your meals on a slow fire to enjoy the taste the flame brings.

Chance Upon?

Uncertainty is a goddess, sublime, beautiful and full of enigma. It gives us reason to live, to laugh, smile, drop tears on slight pretext and sometimes bear great losses with grit determination and valour. Each day is lived in expectations, some of which are never fulfilled, yet we look forward to the next day with equal vigor and excitement. Life is full of milestones, many running in different directions. We try to reach all, knowing fully well the exercise is futile and sometimes overlook small joys of life in hope of attaining bigger things, however distant they are. We don't see the small dew drop on a blade of grass in hope of a cascade somewhere. Where, we don't know. We miss out the small light on the head of a matchstick in search of a 1000 Watt bulb. And a day comes when the entire life flashes past our eyes, in all readiness to go out and seek bliss out of our body.
Live, reach out to friends, touch small milestones and do your every bit to reach all of them and then leave it in the hands of UNCERTAINTY, for it only knows how to take care of you and take you ashore to the twilight of life and is with you till the end.

Life goes on...

Travelling on the highway is fun.
Catching a bus to delhi,
All night, half asleep and half awake.
5.30 a.m.
Catching an auto to the bus stand, Dehradun. Summers and breeze in the morning. Got to catch up an important meeting at Delhi.
6.00 a.m.
A.C. bus is not in sight. Caught up five miles away, in trees uprooted last night in the storm. Boarded a deluxe, still happy for a just comfortable journey in May. Dozing off, the bus speeds up. Someone to catch a flight at three, someone to catch a train at seven.
9.20 a.m.
Suddenly the bus swirls to right. 'oooh', a girl sitting ahead croons. 'Run run, he is dead', I look back, a body lying on the ground, with his cycle on top, all in blood, the bus speeds away.
9.21 a.m.
The bus is parked near a police station. The driver and the conductor are inside, sitting patiently for the sub inspector.
Someone to catch a flight at two, someone a train at seven, what if they miss it. I, to attend the meeting, can we board another bus? The conductor should come and help us.
10.16 a.m.
Two buses are coming; the first stops, and is crowded. Suddenly, the second bus is eyed, AC Volvo. The crowd leaves the first bus and surrounds the other. I manage to get a seat. Everyone is happy for a comfortable ride to Delhi. The flight will be caught in time and so the train. I can attend the meeting too.
10.20 a.m.
The ac bus leaves with the new passengers, in animated conversation, animatedly trying to doze off. There is a curtain on the hind windshield. Did I see anyone trying to look back for the fallen bicycle and its rider?
